LAW Documents

1. Can I get my money back if I don't like the document?

We are committed to ensuring the integrity of this marketplace. If you purchase a document which is clearly described inaccurately or is just bogus (e.g., a blank file), please send us an e-mail from the contact us page with the document ID and name that you are disputing. We will review your case, and if appropriate, issue a refund.

If the document is accurately described by the description, we will generally not require the seller to issue a refund. However, if you are unsatisfied with any purchase on this site, please contact us, an we will do do our best to ensure your satisfaction.

2. Are there file size limits to how large of a file I can upload?

Yes. The largest file you can upload is 5MB. Files larger than this will return an error.

3. What kinds of files types can I upload?

Currently, file types eligible for uploads are limited to .doc, .rtf, .wpd, .wps, .txt, .pdf, .jpg, .ppt, .xls, .zip files. However, our system text indexing and preview features are only designed to support Word documents. If you upload other types of files, the system will not be able to index the content and as a result, users will not be able to search your document contents (although they will still be able to find your document by its description).

4. Do I have to fill out every field in the document description?

No. The only fields that are required are a title and a topic. If you don`t remember the book that you used in a class, for example, feel free to leave it blank.

Furthermore, some documents (for example, case briefs) are not associated with any particular school or course.

However, the more information you provide, the easier it will be for potential purchasers to know how relevant the document may be for them

LAW Questions and Answers

1. My answer was not satisfactory. Can I get my money back?

If the answer is a legitimate attempt to answer your question, we generally will not require a refund from the answerer. Therefore, please make judicious use of user prescreening to ensure that you receive answers from qualified users.

If you receive an answer that is unsatisfactory, please make sure that you rate the answer accordingly so that other members of the Law Resource Exchange community can learn from your experience.

However, in cases where the answer clearly does not attempt to answer the question (e.g., a blank response), please contact us using the "Contact Us" page to request a refund. We will review your answer and reverse the transaction if necessary.

2. Can I be notified when my question has been answered or has a clarification?

Yes. Please make sure the "Send notifications" checkbox is checked in my profile. The system will then send you an e-mail every time there is a change to your question status.

LAW Community Points

1. What is a community point?

Community points are needed to view user reviews of documents. A user needs 1 community point for each document for which he would like to see reviews.

The Law Resource Exchange depends on its members to provide reviews of documents and members to guide the purchase decisions for other members. The Community point system is designed to encourage user participation in this community. Community points are given to members for writing reviews and inviting new members.

2. How do I earn community points?

You can earn points when you rate a document and write a review (+500), when another user finds your review helpful (+100), and when a user you invited joins the Law Resource Exchange (+1000)

3. Can I buy community points?

Yes. If you need to buy points, you may purchase 500 community points for 1 dollar.

LAW Deposits and Withdrawals

1. Can I deposit or withdraw using a service other than paypal?

Currently, we do not support any other mechanisms besides paypal. Depending on user demand, this may change.

2. I submitted a withdrawal request. When will I receive my money?

We process all withdrawal requests Friday afternoon via paypal. All requests submitted throughout the week will be processed on that day. On rare occasions, we may need to delay processing of a withdrawal by a few days to investigate suspicious activity.

3. My withdrawal request was not processed on Friday? What happened?

On occasion, we may need to hold off on processing specific payments to further investigate suspicious activity from you or your buyers. In those cases, we may need to delay processing your withdrawal request to conduct a more thorough investigation. In most cases, the withdrawals will be processed within a few business days. If there are any problems, we will contact you via e-mail.
